In
Pidgin English, to "walkabaot" means to travel or wander.
Vanuatu Aelan Walkabaot is a non-commercial travel resource
for the outer islands with real information and advice about accommodation,
transport, places of interest and activities. Our aim is to promote
low impact tourism that will contribute in a positive way to the
lives of rural people in Vanuatu and to encourage sound natural resource
stewardship.

Tours,
tours, tours! |
| Bungalow
owners in Vanuatu often assume that visitors (tourists)
want organised tours and activities. Too often, we are in
a rush to see and do as much as possible in a short visit.
Do not
rush in Vanuatu, it's expensive, wasteful and you are unlikely
to experience something memorable.
Interesting
things are happening in daily life, if you care to walk
around, meet people and observe what they are doing. Tourist
performances are impersonal, impossible for outsiders to
understand and soon forgotten.
Many
little experiences can be more valuable than a few "attractions".
