Stayed here early Jan 2014 for 5 nites. The facilities and location are great and Sam and Helena make you feel like U are part of the family as village life goes on all around you. Eating mangos from the trees and other great fruit. There is plenty to do an see. Walk up to the repeater hill. I did an overnight trek to the Marum Volcano which was excellent and highly recommended. Go relax and enjoy. Rob S NZ

Just got back from a great 3 day trip to climb the volcano and stayed 2 nights at Sam's (one night spent up on the volcano). The accomidation was a room with 2 beds and a table. very clean and plenty of room. The beds where comfortable with mozie nets provided. There is a seperate flushing toilet and shower both clean and a real luxury considering. food was tasty and filling.Dinner generally consistered of locale fruit and veg., with fresh fish curry served with rice, more than u can eat. Sam and his wife where very friendly and eger to make sure we content. More than happy and would definately stay there again.

I stayed here many times for both work and play, short and long stays in 2009. Sam, Helena and kids are absolutely ideal hosts, and friends. Breakfast and dinner are provided, usually involve fresh bread, peanut butter for brekkie and for dinner something like laplap, or yams, fresh cucumber, noodles with tin fish. Ask for what fruit and vegetables are available, and they will try to please you. The natangura roofed bungalow is charming, clean, basic, and has mosquito nets and curtains. A huge plus, it is located in a private corner (with fruit trees and a lawn) of Sam's huge yard as this offers much more peace, quiet and space than one typically gets in a village. Sam turns on the electric for up to two hours each night and there are lights and electrical outlets in the bungalow. There was as of September 09, a second bungalow being built but an existing western style toilet and spacious wash room separate from the sleeping area.
