Henri

We came in April 2012 for 5 nights and had a brilliant time. The 4 of us (2 adults and 2 children) stayed in one bungalow with a double bed, a single bed and a double mattress on mats on the floor. We had a private ensuite with flush toilet and space to have a wash with a bucket and flannel. For a total of 12,000 Vatu per night all meals were provided. Our hosts would bring delicious meals to the table on the patio under the eaves. The window of the bungalow has a captivating view out to Lopevi Volcano. This island rises up out of the sea glowing magically in the sunrise. Lava trails from previous eruptions are clearly visible and occasionally it had a wisp of rising smoke. A path leads down from the bungalow to a black sand beach which has excellent swimming with a few patches of coral for snorkelling. My teenages spent many an hour in the water. Jeppy acted as our guide. Over a number of days he took us on a tour of the village and gardens, on a walk to a neighbouring village ...

Came here for 4 nights as party of a tour to the volcano organised by Discover Vanuatu in Vila and had a great experience. The volcano trip was awesome and Jeppy had turned it into a pig hunt as well. We ate well that night but perhaps not for the squeamish. The camping equipment was basic (no sleeping bag) so bring your own for the night on the caldera if that is what you are doing. The bungalows were very comfortable (one double and one twin) and the site has a great view of Lopevi gently smoking away. It was also right above a beautiful black sand beach. Good swimming but not really worth bringing my snorkle gear. Village was very welcoming.
