We arrived at Solomon Douglas Bungalows tired, hungry and dirty, after three days trekking on the ash plain. What a delight! We were immediately shown into the restaurant which has stunning views over the ocean and fed manioc chips, fruit and coconut juice. After that the world seemed a much happier place.
I rate Standard & Service "Good" rather than "Excellent" only because the ablutions are a little rugged relative to other local bungalows I have stayed at. Our room was clean and comfortable, the service friendly and the food delicious.
I rate Location & Activities "Good" rather than "Excellent" only because the bungalows are remote. We walked the ash plain to get there and needed to catch a boat back to Craig Cove (around 12,000 vatu a trip). The place itself is beautiful, close to a black sand beach and handy to Fanla Village where we saw a ROM dance and bought carvings.
I rate Value for Money "Good" rather than "Excellent" only because the accommodation is more expensive.

This place is really well situated in the north of the island close to the kastom villages and 50 meters from the black sandy beach. The owner, Salomon Douglas is a friendly and honest man (be aware of his brother, he is not as honest as his brother, always deal with Salomon). The guesthouse is clean, the food is good and Salomon can arrange many trips all around the island, very helpful. A good place if you want to see kastom villages and want to cross the island to see the Marum and the Bembow. Jean louis and Matthieu
