Ratings
Solomon
Douglas Bungalows is a well known place to stay on north
Ambrym near Ranon village. It was originally located at
the end of the beach but was destroyed by a cyclone and
rebuilt on the hill above the beach.
Ranon's
main attractions are hiking Mount Tovuo, kastom
performances and carving. There is also a reef to the north
which is said to have good snorkelling. Volcano treks can
be arranged via Ranvetlam. Both Freddie and Laan Douglas,
the brothers who run Solomon Douglas Bungalows, are skilled
woodcarvers.
