Noda Guesthouse was built by Silas, the principal at nearby Ranwadi High School (phone 38386). His father, Sakias usually looks after the place and he speaks English. Contact us if you can provide mobile phone numbers.

Accommodation and Food
Noda Guesthouse is a modern construction with two bedrooms, each with two single beds, and a kitchen. The windows are screened to keep mosquitoes out. Kerosene lamps are used for lighting. There's a small padlock for locking the bungalow door.

Beside the bungalow, there's a modern flush toilet and shower. Vanu has a good water supply and there's running water in the kitchen too. Bring your own bath towel, toilet paper and soap.

The kitchen has the usual gas cook top, etc. There are a couple of stores in the village where you can buy basic food. Simple prepared meals include rice and tin fish or water taro and tin fish and bread with tea for breakfast. The water supply comes down from a clean source in the hills and is OK to drink.

Vanu is a small village with just a couple of stores and a kava bar.

Stayed one night back in April after the Nangol. We could not have been taken care of better. Food was great (roast pig for dinner and home baked bread for each meal) and the Kava flowed freely. Some girls from the college came down and danced for us. Swimming from the beach was beautiful and the sunset will stay in our memories for ever. Be sure to visit the waterfall.

Noda is great and Silas is a fantastic host. He made us feel so welcome and always found something for us to do. His sister cooked beautiful meals for us, and loved to sit and join us for a cuppa and a chat! Definitely check it out if you're in the vicinity, and make sure you have someone take you up to the waterfall. Hannah

Stayed at the Noda guesthouse in May 2006 for 3 nights. There are two separate cottages, we stayed in a concrete block construction house with 2 bedrooms (one double and the other with 2 single beds. The house also has a kitchen. The ladies prepared lovely meals for us, fresh bread every morning for breakfast and meals included things like taro chips and steak. The bungalow has flyscreens and bednets. There is a flush toilet behind the other bungalow and the shower was outside in a tin cubicle with a hose attached.
The guesthouse is opposite a lovely beach and we used it as a base for visits to ranwadi school and the Nagol land diving.
