Noda Guesthouse in Vanu village provides accommodation five minutes walk from the local waterfall. Starting in February 2005, there's now a 500 Vatu per person kastom fee to visit the waterfall.

Costs and Booking
Noda Guesthouse charges 1000 Vatu per person, per night. Local style meals can be provided for 500 Vatu extra. Noda Guesthouse was built by Silas, the principal at nearby Ranwadi High School (phone 38386 or 38303). His father, Sakias usually looks after the place. Languages spoken are Bislama and English. All expenses are payable in Vatu cash. Exchange rates.

Accommodation and Food
Noda Guesthouse is a modern construction with two bedrooms, each with two single beds, and a kitchen. The windows are screened to keep mosquitoes out. Kerosene lamps are used for lighting. There's a small padlock for locking the bungalow door.

Beside the bungalow there's a modern flush toilet and shower. Vanu has a good water supply and there's running water in the kitchen too. Bring your own bath towel, toilet paper and soap.

The kitchen has the usual gas cook top etc. There are a couple of stores in the village where you can buy basic food. Simple prepared meals include rice and tin fish or water taro and tin fish and bread with tea for breakfast. The water supply comes down from a clean source in the hills and is OK to drink.

Services, Suggestions and Transport
Vanu is a small village with just a couple of stores and a kava bar. There's more, including medical facilities, at Ranwadi and Melsisi to the north. See our Pentecost page for transport information.
