Something new and surprising on Santo is camping on Champagne Beach. It's a fairly popular tour stop but most of the time you will have the beach to yourself. There are no plans or itineraries, do as much or as little as you like.

Costs and Booking
Camping costs 1000 Vatu per night or 1500 Vatu if you need to hire a tent. You should not have to pay any beach fee like day visitors do. Exchange rates.

Bring most of what you need from Luganville. Aelan kaekae and fresh fish can be sourced locally. You may be invited to Ben's home for evening meals.

08/01/2010	Standard Location Value	Peter and Janet have a new contact number which is 5636173. It is now 1,500 per tent per night. They can provide you with a tent if you need one. they have two, two man tents available. If using their tent it is an extra 500 vatu per night. They can organise transport if you call them, or you can leave from the Unity petrol station around 3pm every afternoon (except Sundays). Fresh water is available but you have to carry it some distance, so it's best to bring plenty of containers to hold water. We spent 4 nights there late December 2009 and had a brilliant time. During the day it was busy (Christmas) but we had the whole beach to ourselves every night.
