I stayed at Jabsina when on a short stay in Port Vila for business. A female travelling alone, I wanted somewhere close to town, inexpensive but safe. I certainly found Jabsina to be all 3. Hosts were welcoming. Accommodation basic but very adequate. 4 rooms for rent in the one building. 2 bathrooms and toilets. Shared kitchen & living area. 2500 vatu per night, very well priced. I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed at Jabsina a while ago, in November 2012, but am writing the review now because I am always thinking about it! I loved staying here. Alick and Tousong are very kind and welcoming. I was staying here alone (had the whole house to myself!) and had privacy when I needed it, but their company when I wanted it. I was wary of staying out of town, but it could not be easier to get into Port Vila. The bus passes frequently and is very cheap. Also, Jabsina is very easy to find and the bus drivers know where to bring you if you mention the name. The guesthouse is self catering. However, buying lunch or dinner at the market will but you back max 4$ and Alick gave me fruit from his tree for breakfast:)
I loved my stay here and could not recommend it more! The family is absolutely lovely and are great hosts.

If you don't want to spend too much money in Port Vila, Jabsina Guest House is the place to stay.
The place is very clean and pleasant. Alick and his family are very friendly and helpful. Alick's brother was waiting for us at the airport at 1 AM when we arrived with 1 hour delay. On the way back, Alick was awake at 4.30 AM to drive us.
Jabsina Guest House is in a ideal location, you live in a quiet village (Pango) close to a beautiful shore, but you can easily reach the town, you never wait more than 10 minutes to get a bus (150 VT/pers.).
Alick might take a few days to answer to your email because he has to go to town to check his messages.
The guest house has three rooms with double beds and one room with twin beds. It has two bedrooms and two separate toilets. You can cook for yourself and eat in the kitchen/lounge, there is a gas cooker and a refrigerator/three stars freezer.

Two of us stayed here for more than a week in total over Christmas and had the most amazing time. Tousong, Alick and the kids are all great people and very friendly. Really close to a nice beach (take reef shoes) and getting in to town is super easy, buses come every couple of minutes from the end of the street. We had an amazing time at Jabsina and recommend it to everyone.

The four of us stayed two relaxing nights in April 2012 at Jabsina. We had the spacious house to ourselves. Facilities include electricity, flush loos and hot showers. The Sope family were very polite and helpful. Soon after we arrived Alick’s niece took us on a walk down to the beach; a beach with wind and surf.
This accommodation is self-catering with some of the kitchen equipment limited. Buses can be caught at the driveway end on the road if you wish to eat in town. Our flight home required us at the airport at 5am! Since this coincided with a bus drivers strike Alick kindly arranged transport with his brother.

Two nights in Tanna and two nights in excellent Jabsina Guesthouse, as it was a short four day trip to Vanuatu. The owners, the Sope family are very nice, friendly people, always eager to help. We shared a good amount of stories as well. The proximity to the airport was certainly a plus, specially since I had a late 11:30pm flight. All the confort you need you will get and it will be hard to find a more affordable place. I strongly recommend a stay in Jabsina.
