Just three weeks after the cyclone PAM, we stayed three days in Pauvina guesthouse. All bungalows resisted and Leipokoa can welcome people as before. It was a very great easter week-end. We shared chocolate eggs and sweets with children, food, water and tools with villagers, and we took advantage of this always beautiful place. Thank you to Leipokoa, John, Nancy, Rachel,... for this harmful welcoming and good luck to you for next months!

I was so happy I stayed with Lei and John at their welcoming guesthouse! I showed up with a cold and was nursed back to health with the smiles and fresh garden grapefruits from Lei and John as well as peaceful deep rest in my homey room. I had stayed at another bungalow on the island and was miserable, so finding Paunvina guesthouse was a prayer answered. Lei even took me to a local wedding so I got a real cultural immersion. There is no more home-over feeling place I found on my whole trip in Vanuatu!

I stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time. Leipokoa and John were amazing hosts who worked hard to ensure we were happy, well fed and comfortable. Great location near the beach and a short walk into either village. The food was also amazing! John and Leipokoa source almost all their ingredients from their beautiful garden. Delicious fresh and organic! Couldn't have been happier. Definitely recommend staying at Paunvina!

We stayed two nights in October 2012 with friends and our baby, one year aged. It was very welcoming and warmful. Food and accomodation very good also. We walked up to extinct volcanoe with Tatu who came the morning to bring us. We liked Leipokoa who is very nice with us and the baby. Go and see!

This place is the best!! Leipokoa and her husband were so nice to me. I went there by myself for 3 days and they took care of my like family. Fresh fruits from the garden, home made cooked meals. She even woke up at 3 am to make me kato. There was a moskito net. And they filled the water tank so I could take a real shower. This place was heaven. I highly recommend it. The hosts were marvelous. Unakap was also nice. It's the only guesthouse there, so it's nice to be away from Taloa. Enjoy your stay

Really lovely owners, good location, incredibly delicious island cooking (especially the chicken and cabbage if available) and its great to know the money goes to the local economy and not some giant global hotel chain. I highly recommend this place!

Our trip to Nguna Island in North Efate was the highlight of our time in Vanuatu. We met so many lovely people and felt very welcomed by the community. The snorkeling in the local Marine Protected Area is fantastic and the beach beautiful. Pauvina Guesthouse is a very special place. Leipoko and John are two of the sweetest, easy going, funny people I have ever met. The food was amazing and we were well cared for and looked after. The bathroom and rooms were clean and well maintained. A very relaxing, insightful and enjoyable experience.

My experience at Paunvina was wonderful. The bungalow is catered really well and they were so accommodating for us as a large group of people. In all honestly, I have never had such a peaceful night's sleep. We stayed for one night and teamed the trip with a walk to the top of the extinct volcano on Nguna. This was definitely a must for a fantastic and authentic island experience.

When I was in a bus in Port Villa a bus driver told me that people from Nguna Island are very happy and nice people, he wasn't lying. Leipokoa and John are the friendliest and most beautiful people we have ever met. They looked after us so well and we had the most amazing time. Charlie (son-in-law) and Eddie (son) are also extremely genuine people and lovely to be around. Paunvina and the people i met will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you Paunvina for such an amazing experience.
