Kenneth's Island Breeze is nicely located, in a quiet place on the bay with a sunset view but also close to the village. Kenneth is a great host, taking great care of his guests and ready to guide, if you ask him. He is always happy to chat and take his guests for kava.

Tankyu tumas long Marie-anne for updating us about Island Breeze.

Accommodation and Food
Island Breeze has two comfortable bungalows. One has a verandah with kitchen. The other has a separate kitchen. Both have a double and a single bed for sleeping and mosquito nets. The kitchen and dining room have solar electric lighting. For other rooms there are kerosene lamps and candles. It has been recommended to bring your own mosquito coils

Island Breeze has a shared shower and a nice and clean flush toilet. The water supply works well. It's recommended to bring your own soap, bath towel and toilet paper.

Kenneth can provide meals and these are usually aelan aekae. Depending on availability you can get fresh bread, fruits, lap-lap, fish and, if you're patient, lobster. If you want to cook yourself or have supplies remaining from a stay on Mystery Island, Kenneth's Bungalows has a simple equipped kitchen with gas burners.

There are stores in Anelgauhat where you can buy basic foodstuffs and fruit and vegetables can be sourced from the villagers (just ask). The local water supply is clean, cold and good for drinking.

stayed here in October 2013. Kenneth is friendly and can organise trips around the island, or over to Mystery Island. You can contact Kenneth to book on 7770558 (useful if you're coming by plane, so that he can meet you at the airport with his boat).

I stayed there for 4 nights by myself to get away from it all. What a wonderful place ;).Kenneth is a wonderful host. He is a lovely man and made me feel at home and at the same time, gave me space to wander around the village and beach aimlessly.
One really good tip is to tell him that you love lobster as soon as you get there and you won't be disappointed (also tell him you want to go deep sea fishing. I learnt this on my last island hop to Aniwa, also off Tanna. They cost around $17 each, but are to die for. There is a shop on the island at the other side of the bay, but I bought a pack of cigarettes of a guy who knew a guy, so its always good to ask. Its surprising what is available, so far away.
I also recommend going to the church service on Sunday morning. Not only will it be the most beautiful singing that you have ever heard, but most of the village go and its good to go and say hello. Shows respect I think.. The accommodation is simple, yet quite sufficient and clean.

We have just returned from 4 nights here. While I was prepared for basic, I found that the food was sparce for the 2000 vatu we payed per person, per night.
Rats seem to enjoy our company.
The toilet (flush) was clean, but no paper ever appeared. We had taken our own.
Take torches as there is no electricity.
A beautiful island.

We spent several days in these bungalows in 2010. Before that we spent several days in Mystery island. All was interesting cultural experience and we loved it. But I hesitated for a long time to write a comment. I was fully prepared for the basic conditions, that was part of the experience. But I didn't fully understand "Vanuatu time" idea, that caused some disappointment. Basically I'm trying to say that we need to be very specific about our needs and time. People will go out of their way to do what you need, be very concrete, that's all. But that's why we go not to the luxurious resort, but local bungalows - to learn about different cultures, learn something from them. And I'm eventually thankful to them all and very happy that I had this experience.

We stayed at Kenneth's Bungalows for 3 days in July, 2012 and agree with most of previous comments- Kenneth and his family were great hosts. The telephone landline no longer works but you can usually contact Kenneth or Natu by mobile phone on following numbers: +6787770558, +6787712639 or Natu (at school)+6787735161. Failing this try Barry Nangia(Aneityum Tourism Project)+6787117010 - he will be able to give number if they have changed. Kenneth was halfway through building 2 more bungalows. We took some eggs with us at Kenneth's suggestion which was a great help. The bungalows on Mystery Island were closed down - cyclone damage I think. The plane flies into Aneityum on Tuesdays and Saturdays at present. Don't rely on plane keeping to timetable as it "island hops" and sometimes changes the order of its landings. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed - enjoy the experience, it's a beautiful spot with lovely people.

I spent 4 days at Kenneth's bungalows in November 2009, and I was impressed with the standard of accomodation Kenneth offers for a very reasonable price. Kenneth and his family are very welcoming and genuinely interested in meeting visitors and showing them around. The bungalows are very comfortable, with running water, flush toilets and solar electricity, whilst still retaining a simple feel. They are spacious, made from local material and all beds equipped with mosquito nets. There is a great kitchen, "fully equipped" if you want to cook some of your own meals. Kenneth will also get out his way to provide you with great meals if you ask him. Don't hesitate to tell him you like fish.

You can't spend all of your time on Mystery Island?
