Booking
It's worth booking because Jungle Oasis often receives large
groups of volcano enthusiasts. You can call the manager,
Kelson, on 68676. Often, he will be at the airport when a plane
lands, fishing for guests. If Jungle Oasis is full there are plenty of other bungalows in the area.

Accommodation
and Food
Jungle Oasis Lodge has plenty of capacity with eight bungalows
constructed of local materials in a garden setting:
- 2 twin bungalows (two single beds inside).
- 2 triple bungalows (three single beds inside).
- 2 family bungalows (one room with a double and a single
bed, a second room with two single beds).
- 1 super bungalow (one room with a double and two single
beds, a second room with two single beds).
- 1 bungalow with both a double and a single bed.
If that's not enough there are also two tents with one single
bed in each and room to spare. Extra blankets are available
for cold nights. Mosquito nets are provided. A generator
powers electric lighting at night.
There
are a couple of modern flush toilets and showers about (toilet
paper is supplied). Beware that the toilets and showers
have bamboo and wild cane walls. they are not very private at night when it's dark outside and
light inside.
Breakfasts
at Jungle Oasis are the usual bread and tea or instant coffee.
Other meals are poor value for money at 750 Vatu for lunch
(eg tuna sandwich) and 1200 Vatu for dinner (eg rice, lap-lap,
beef stew and vegetables). Bottled drinking water (500mL)
is free with all meals even though the water supply should
be OK to drink. The owner's are Seventh Day Adventists and
there's no bar (you can bring your own alcohol).
Suggestions and Transport
There aren't any reliable stores around so do your shopping
before leaving Lenakel (airport transfers to Jungle Oasis
stop at the TAFEA Co-operative store for guests to do their
shopping).
Tanna's
interior can be surprisingly cold at night and you should
bring a warm shirt, jumper or light jacket. If you want
to surf the ash slopes of Mount Yasur there's one snow board
at Jungle Oasis Lodge.
