Philip rescued me and a few other travellers when our drivers failed to show up at the airport. He stayed up until 2AM on Christmas eve getting us to our accommodations! In the morning we walked down to Philip's bungalow and checked in with him for the remainder of the trip. Lower price, good food, amazing view of the volcano from the restaurant. I would stay here again. THANK YOU PHILIP!!

Philip and Claudia, the owners of the bungalows are very friendly. We spent a very pleasant evening talking to them. With their children, they also prepared a little show called magic leaves very surprising. The bungalows are ideally located 45 minutes walk from the summit of the volcano. They are clean and comfortable. We spent a good night punctuated by explosions of the volcano The food is good and plentiful. It Is made with local products purchased by Philip along the way and are served with rice. We spent a very good week-end in Tanna and if we come back in Tanna we will stay again at the Tanna Melanesian Bungalows.

Fantastic...make sure you walk from the bungalow up to the volcano as you will see the fissures on the side of the volcano. Steep walk up though. This bungalow is actually ON the side of the volcano so you will be rumbled & roared to sleep...you can see the lava flying out from your bed !

The Good: The location is very convenient to the volcano and everyone is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The toilettes and washing facilities are clean. Transportation can be arranged, but watch the price, ask around at the airport as to what the price should be for shared transport.
The Bad: The food was generally awful. I love the local food and requested it, but was instead served tined fish and stew over rice. I believe I caught giardia here from the supposedly safe water. I travelled a great deal in remote parts of Vanuatu with no problems from local water or food until I arrived here.
