We seemed to be destined for a disaster here. They forgot to pick us up from the airport, meaning we had to find alternative accommodation near the white grass airport. When finally they did pick us up the next day there were about 10 of us piled in the back of the truck for the two hour journey across the island with everyones bags. A couple of times we nearly flew off. Once there the truck was always broken down, they could not take us to the volcano. Finally when they did get us up there they said we had to go after 15minutes (which we refused to do.)The prices kept changing for the tours and our bill had a few strange items on it at the end that we had to take off. The mosquito net in the bungalow was a shocker, with huge holes gaping through. Would not recommend this place at all. |

Ditto to other comments, great views very peaceful. Just far enough away from Volcano to avoid too much ash but close enough for tour. Stayed in August 2008 for 2 nights, no menu as such for meals, flat rate 1000 vatu per meal, basic Island food, no seafood or anything special. The whole island ran short of fuel while we were there so had to leave 1 night early and go to Lenakal as there may have been no transport at all the next day. Don't assume too much, when we came back from our walk to beautiful shark bay we were told there wouldn't be any lunch as we didn't ask the staff for lunch after breakfast. So we walked to Port Resolution (3hr round trip) to have lunch with other people from our bungalow who had pre-arranged for this with the yacht club. BE VERY CAREFUL at the volcano. |

Spent 2 days and nights. Wonderful location. The large bungalow with ensuite located on the cliff edge is a real Presidential Suite! Well worth the extra for us. Very clean. The food was good and the staff were friendly. English was a little bit of an issue but no real problem. Wished we could have stayed longer but no warning of the fact that Tanna had no facilities for obtaining cash from debit or credit cards. Cash does get burned pretty quick with the cost of transport etc. |

The simple bungalows are beautifully made in an amazing setting with a stunning view to Cooks hat and the beach. The facilities are very clean and well thought through (bathrooms and showers as well as the bungalows), so very comfortable to stay. (We stayed there for a whole week and were sad to leave). The people were always very friendly and helpful and looked after us very well. |

A great place, exceptionally clean and tidy and also an excellent location with the constant sea breeze keeping things cool and blowing the bugs away. Only concern I have is that the prices seemed to keep changing. I didn’t like the feeling that things were constantly changing price and everything was becoming extra. The water was continuous and the shower very good. Snorkelling at the beach not very good. Better down at Cooks Hat or Port Resolution. Amazingly hot water near the beach – must be thermal waters rising up into the sea. J.S., New Zealand. |

Bungalows are in an incredible area and very close to the volcano and everything else that Tanna has to offer. Worthwhile bringing a few bottles of drinking water, especially if you are worried about the water that is piped down from the mountains. |
