Leumerous
Guesthouse has five bungalows by the beach at Sola. It has
modern facilities like electric lighting, modern flush toilets
and showers but some of the bungalows are a bit run down.
Costs
A night at Leumerous costs 2500 Vatu per person including
all meals, payable in Vatu cash. Leumerous is managed by
Robert Sam and Sarah Dini. Robert is helpful in planning
expeditions on Vanua Lava, organising transport and can
take you on short guided walks. Robert speaks Bislama and
English. Expenses are payable in Vatu cash. Exchange

Memorial Resort on Ra Island.
Leumerous
is the last bungalow you find when coming from the airport.
It's near the bend in the road, past the shops and before
the government buildings.
Accommodation
and Food
The bungalows have concrete or stone walls with bamboo on
top and Natangura palm thatch roofs. The best bungalows
have locking doors and mosquito nets. If there's no net
you'll be given a mosquito coil. Of the five bungalows two
have one single bed each, two have two single beds each
and one has three single beds. A solar panel gathers power
for lighting only. There is no inverter but you can get
access to the public electricity supply. You should bring
a bath towel if you want one.
Food
at Leumerous is generally quite basic and can be monotonous.
Lunch or dinner might be rice with beef stew or fish. Breakfasts
may be bread, gato
or crackers with tea or coffee (instant).
