| This northern hemisphere finch was introduced to New Zealand in 1862 and became widespread. It is a vagrant to Vanuatu, the first record is a single bird collected in 1961 on Aneityum (Bregulla, 1992). A second record is of a lone male seen on Tanna in 2008 (S.
