| This large curlew has a strikingly long bill. It breeds in Siberia during the northern summer and most birds visit Australia during the non-breeding season where it can be seen along beaches and in estuaries (Higgins and Davies, 1996). This bird is a vagrant to Micronesia and Melanesia (Higgins and Davies, 1996). In Vanuatu there has been only one sighting (Bregulla, 1992). References. |
